Dear friends and collectors,
It is our pleasure to invite you, a long-time friend and collector of Roberto's work, to the IAMWILD Foundation inaugural fundraising event. 25 years —a quarter century of exploration of the Wild Horses of Sable Island could fill the volumes of an encyclopedia. Roberto Dutesco’s voyages to Sable Island have produced the award-winning documentary Chasing Wild Horses (2009), seen by over 30 million people in 50 countries, two monumental sold-out books titled The Wild Horses of Sable Island and a dozen exhibitions around the world.
The IAMWILD Foundation was inspired by this journey. Please join us alongside Roberto for an intimate conversation about Sable Island, its band of wild horses and how his art and the IAMWILD Foundation platform of initiatives will care for their home, as well as our planet.
This event will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 6 pm. Join us for cocktails and a reception as well as enjoy JMTW’s pop-up performances of Mullers’ classic piece ‘Island.’
Island is a collaboration with photographer Roberto Dutesco. Mr. Dutesco has created haunting images of the horses on Sable Island—horses that have existed without human intervention or interference. Taking its cue from the physical motion, social interaction and imagery of these wild horses and what they represent as an increasingly rare natural phenomenon, the piece is a peon to an unfettered, untamed state of being.
